WJW// 3 months old

I am seriously terrible with this whole blogging thing. I can't find the time to blog anymore being a mom,  having a full time job, and going to school. I totally missed Walker's 3 month update. So instead, I figured I would talk about my 3 month old and what he's up too.

Walker is a vibrant, loud, and silly baby. I can't tell you how much I look forward to coming home to him everyday. He is smiling all the time and on the verge on laughing (which I just absolutely cannot wait for)! He has grown out of him colic and thank the good Lord for that. When he cries it's because he actually needs something and usually only cries when he wants a bottle. Boy doesn't play when it comes to food. He is holding his head up and rolling over like a pro. He is still a little wobbly sitting in his bumbo so I have to stick the boppy behind his head. He is starting to interact and play with toys. The other day I had him on the couch sitting up with his boppy and he was just sitting there grabbing his plastic ball and moving it all around. I watched him the whole time I was folding laundry and you could just see the concentration in that boys face. It was the cutest thing.

"My heart"

He is also sleeping 7 hours through the night and usually wakes up around 6. Sometimes he wakes up earlier because he has uncovered himself, but I cover him back up and he falls right back asleep. Little man somehow always gets out of Daddy's tight swaddle. He grew out of his sleeper and his solely in his crib now. He sleeps only on his back and always has his hands up by his face. Mornings with him are my absolute favorite. When he wakes up he cries until he gets a bottle, but after that he is all smiles. He is in the best mood and I play with him for a few hours until he lays down for is morning nap around 9-10.

Little man absolutely loves bath time!! He knows what's going on when I get the tub out from the closet. He starts getting all excited and kicks his legs when I undress him and pull off his diaper. Once he's in the water he just looks and smiles at me. He could literally be under the warm running water for hours. His whole 3 months of life he has not cried one time in the tub. When he was a newborn he would scream when I took him out of the tub and wrapped him up in the towel. Now I think he is used to it and I dry him off real quick. Now he just screams every time he gets dressed/undressed. Something about putting a onesie or shirt over his head just pisses him right off.

"Bath time with this stinker"

I am still breast feeding and supplementing with formula while I'm at work. Later this month Walker goes in for his 4 month checkup. He is getting two more shots and the Doc is going to talk with me about starting solid foods. I am so excited to start feeding him mashed up bananas and what not.

Two Month's Old// 6.22.15

Two months ago I gave birth to the sweetest little boy. I really didn't know how much my life was going to change and I really am just so thankful. Life might be more tiring and stressful, but everything is so completely worth it when I get the biggest smiles and coo's, This month is much  better than last month because he is less fussy and we understand each other. I know his cries when he needs something whether it's being hungry, a gas bubble, or just being fussy to make noise.
"2 months and lovin' life"

He's wearing size 1 diapers and fitting into 0-3/3/3-6 month clothing. It really all depends on the brand. Gerber runs small so he is wearing 3-6 in that and Carters he is wearing 0-3/3 month. I have already packed away all of his newborn clothing and given some away. It was a sad, sad day... but he can't be my little baby forever.

He is so much more alert and actually looks at you when you are talking to him or making funny faces. He is eating non stop and will eat a bottle after I nurse him because I just can't produce enough for how often he wants to eat. He is rolling over like a pro and is starting to get control of his head. He get's lazy though and wants you to hold it for him, but we are working on that. He is so smiley and I can't wait to start hearing him laugh soon!
"Love that sweet smile"

He absolutely loves the water and being outdoors. He just looks up at the sky and is so curious of his surroundings. We took him out to the pool at my parents house and he was just relaxing and was so comfortable that he actually had a code brown! Lol!
"swoon"

Sleeping is still a struggle. He is not regular at all and will wake up 2-3 times one night and sleep 6 hours solid the next. We aren't giving him rice cereal yet and won't be for a little while. I can't wait for that solid 10-12 hours though! He does take good naps throughout the day though. I used to just cuddle him, but now I use that time to get stuff done around the house. It's a good hour and a half to myself and to our home. Haha.

At his two month check up he weighed in at 12 pounds and 23.5 inches! He's healthy as a horse and growing like a weed! We had to take his diaper warmer off of his changing table that's attached to our crib because they both wouldn't fit anymore! I put his one month and two month picture together. He really has chunked up and I could just eat up those cheeks.
"Such a difference in one month!"

Overall, he has stolen everyone's hearts and I fall more in love with him everyday. He is really starting to get a personality and everyday spent with him is a blessing!

Happy two months Walker! Mommy & Daddy love you to pieces.

Weekend recap

Walker is sleeping and the hubby is off today so I had a little time to myself for a little weekend recap. Dakota worked all weekend so it was me and little man all day and all night while daddy slept. I love spending time with my Son and I am going to miss it so much when I have to go back to work next month.

Friday was a chill day for us. We stayed at home all day and watched movies together. I wore him and got some stuff done around the house. Laundry is my never ending enemy and I tackled it completely. No clothes were left in the dryer or on the couch. Walker has started to chill out lately. Usually if he's not sleeping he's just crying. He has never just sat in his chair and relaxed looking around. He screams until you pick him up which means that I never get anything done. With him chilling out I actually can enjoy my lunch and unload the dishwasher. He was in a really good mood so I put him on his play mat and he was loving it. We also did tummy time and he rolled over for the first time. It was the sweetest thing ever. I was so excited and proud, but sad at the same time because my baby is growing up! My dad came home that night from a business trip and was missing Walker so we went over there to visit. My mom and dad can't get enough of little man.

Saturday Walker and I ran errands with Chandler and EllaRynn. She had some last minute stuff to get for Oakleigh's 2nd birthday party. We loaded up the kids and went around town. Walker did really well and only cried when he was hungry or had a dirty diaper. We even made it through lunch without him freaking out. I was one proud mom! When we got back to Chan's we had the babies on the play mat for their first play date. It was the cutest thing ever.  That night we went home and made daddy shrimp alfredo for dinner. I wore Walker in my K'tan and got everything pretty much done before Dakota got home. We got to enjoy a nice dinner and Dakota got some snuggles in while I cleaned up the kitchen. Seeing Dakota with Walker makes my heart melt every single time. I just think it's the sweetest sight in the world. After we put Walker to bed I was able to work on his hospital shadow box. I put all of our hospital bracelets in it and his little hat he wore. It looks so tiny now and really shows how much he has grown.

Sunday Walker and I headed over to Chandler's around noon and helped her set up for Oak's cherry on top party. It was the cutest 2nd birthday ever. She made cupcakes and bought tons of candy for the kids to decorate and bought ice cream and let the adults make Ice Cream Sundae's. After the fun all of the kids got in their bathing suits and played on the blow up slide. I stayed inside with Walker because it was so hot outside and he was already sweating from it being hot inside with everyone their. Once again he was a doll and only cried when he needed something. I think we are starting to turn over a new leaf here people! That night all of the friends stayed over and ordered pizza. Dakota got off work on time and was able to come over and chat for a few minutes before everyone started to leave.

It was a great weekend even though we didn't get to see much of Dakota. That just means we get all of this weekend to spend time with him. I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend!

Life as a new mom// One month old

Holy cow... blogging these days seems to be impossible. If I am not taking care of the baby I am either trying to catch up on laundry, the house, and catching up on my Z'sssss too. Instead of my cat nap I thought I would update my blog and fill everyone in on how life is as a new mom.

There are so many words to describe being a mom to a one month old. Exhausted & excited would be my main two. Not one persons advice or comments can prepare you for motherhood. You have to actually experience it for yourself and let me tell you... it's nothing like the advice I received on a daily basis while pregnant. Yes, the whole you won't sleep again is pretty much true. But my son has his own personality and I had to learn him and his cries. We have our own little routine down and it's going pretty good. He sleeps maybe 4 hours at a time at night and is now eating 4 ounces. He loves bath time and isn't too fond of diaper changes (but what child is)? He is still trying to determine if he likes tummy time or not and I'm still trying to determine if I like coffee enough to drink throughout the day. Motherhood has made me dip my toes to drinking coffee, but nothing crazy. I shower every other day now and my hair is always up. I feel like I'm working against a ticking time bomb when I get ready and he could cry out of a deep sleep any second. Being on time to anything is a joke and I have to get ready two hours before I have to be somewhere. I was pretty proud of myself for making it early to my sister in law's baby shower that started at 10 am. I started getting us ready at 7:30. You never know these days... my son usually has a blow out or spits up on himself right when we are about to walk out the door. Being a mom is so rewarding though despite all of the stressful/sleepless nights. All of the sweet snuggles and him just looking at me make it all worth it. I'm so loving being his momma and I'm dreading going back to work. I don't want  to imagine leaving my Son for 8 hours or more a day. I love being by his side every minute of the day. Don't get me wrong.. I do go out without him and let my mom or my mother in law watch him, but after a few hours I'm so ready to be home and kiss his cheeks a million times.

Now on to Walker James! One month ago I was holding him in my arms for the first time. That seriously feels like yesterday. Time has flown and although I'm sad he's not in his cute little newborn clothes anymore I am so excited to watch him grow and learn. Here are a little fun facts about him.

  • Absolutely loves bath time
  • HATES being changed whether it's his diaper or his outfit
  • Screams bloody murder being put in his carrier, but falls asleep once we get in the car every single time
  • Sleeps 4 hours at a time at night
  • Is now eating 4 ounces
  • LOVES to snuggle and cries sometimes when he figures out I put him down
  • Becoming more alert and looks at me while I talk to him

Walker James Ward, you are my greatest adventure and I'm so humbled you picked me to be your mommy. I love you more than anything and this first month with you has been the best. You're such a sweet boy and I look forward to watching you achieve all of life's little milestones.
